How did you learn about Infantry? I heard of Infantry in subspace, like everyone who really deserve to be called a vet :) Words about Infantry were just spreading all around the game in September '99 so i decided to give it a try, didn't take me long to drop TrenchWars for BetaZone and Escape POD :)
When did you first play Infantry? That would be September '99. :)
Your first alias was? TechNiko
Which zone did you play first? BetaZone then Escape POD then CTF when it came out.
What was your impression when you logged-in for the first time? I wondered why the whirlwind aimed so bad :)
I was already familiar with the game-type because of subspace, so the messaging and communication wasen't a problem to first learn the basics. The fact that everyone was a newbie but a really few made the things easier. I often wish to get back then without all the "vetz'n'bitchin" there's nowadays.
What were your first words in the chats? I can't remember exaclty :) It was either:
Wow this game seems to be cool - (replies: AGRED!) or Hmm... What is High Latency?
What was your first class in BZ? How did you outfit him/her? Now i can't remember that, smoked too much weed :)
How long did it take you to learn how to shoot? To strafe? How to shoot, i knew that almost instantly :)
But strafing took me like a week to find out, i didn't really bother fighting anyways... I was more exploring and the damn n00bs were killing me for nothing ;( ... hehe
Who was your first friend, and how did you meet him/her? KingJF, in fact he was in the squad i used to lead in subspace, he was the only one who went to infantry with me. He stopped playing 2 weeks after but i kept the beat.
Who was your first enemy, and how did you meet him/her? I have always been way to pacifist in Infantry, my first enemy is my only one: Putaz, who got mad at me for no damn reasons but that i lag-cheat whatever.
When did you realize that Infantry was worth playing? When i killed someone for the first time =)))
What else do you remember best of your first days? I remember i made the alias Anti-Flagging in BZ because i was bored of getting reset after each game :) I used to spread-hide flags all over the map so no teams could win, that was fun :P Now I wonder if infantry is still the same for newbies, or if it's totally different. I mean if I arrived in the game today, what would I think? (I will answer this if i ever get a car crash and lose memory and start playing infantry again)
