is imposed by the Collective as a way too offset the huge costs of
colonization. |

"Aztech"
Power Corp refuses to pay the new tax. Azteches assets are seized by
the collective. |

The first
case of space piracy occurs. The freighter "Asmodeus" returns to
earth reporting that it was attacked by two converted shuttles while
traveling from Jupiter to Earth. 28 craft had disappeared in the
previous decade many now wonder how many of them were due to piracy.

Collective
Marines intercept and destroy a pirate ship in Moon space. Captured
pirates are found to be ex-Martian colonists who report of a huge
network of piracy in the asteroid belt.

180 CE |
The
collective dispatches a war fleet to attack and destroy the pirates.
This fleet is successful and uncovers links to piracy in almost
every Jupiter colony. The Collective votes to punish these colonies
and passes the "Jovian Internment Act". Thousands are imprisoned.

First
anti-collective riots occur on Earth as relatives of the Jovian
colonists protest at their harsh treatment. By vote the riots are
suppressed by force. |
182 CE |
Europa
garrison is repeatedly attacked by guerrillas striking from the
ocean depths. Reprisals against civilians are harsh.

183 CE |
Massacre of
Io occurs when prisoner miners refuse to work under slave
conditions. After seizing the prison and killing guards the entire
complex is pumped with nerve gas. Amazingly some prisoners survive
and are transported back to earth for trail.

Kaiser City
on Titan declares independence in a shock move. Local Collective
forces are quickly overwhelmed and soon the entire planet is in
revolt. |
193-200 CE |
"1st Titan
War' Collective forces dispatched from Jupiter attack Titan. In the
seven year war that follows Titan is re-conquered in a long and
bloody battle. |
196-201 CE |
"The Siege
of Ganymede" After heavy taxes imposed to help support the war on
Titan Ganymede goes into open non-violent rebellion by refusing to
pay any taxes. The Collective responds by imposing a complete
embargo upon the moon. The siege lasts for five years. The moon
never falls. |
198 CE |
"The fall of
Europa" with resources drained to fight Titan the Collective weakens
its Europa garrison. It quickly falls to the undersea guerrilla's
and Eurpoa is free of collective rule.

"The Europa
civil war" begins. Protected by its huge icy shell Europa is safe
from the forces of the Collective. They instead turn on each other
and a civil war becomes increasingly vicious.

201 CE |
"Lunar
revolt." Lunar which has consistently voted against military action
against the outer colonies stops sending troops to support the war.
The collective responds by heavy bombardment of some colonies. The
Lunar revolt is quickly crushed by Lunar citizens who now regard
themselves as prisoners. |
210-215 CE |
"Operation
Ragnarok" The great Collective offensive which drew all available
troops from Earth to retake the colonies. Millions died in this
system wide war now regarded as the last gasp of a dying empire.
Ragnarok Severed permanently the bonds between Earth and the new
worlds of the solar system. |
214 CE |
"2nd Titan
War" During Ragnarok Titan once again "liberates" itself this time
seemingly for good. |
215 CE |
Incredible
losses in the outer solar system lead to massive riots on earth. The
Collective decides to end the offensive and maintain its grip on its
remaining colonies. |
216 CE |
Mars company
"White Wing" announces that it will now trade with new worlds
despite a Collective ban. They are quickly followed by most other
Mega-Corps. |
220 CE |
Collective
embargo is dropped on colony goods and trade resumes.

221 CE |
Collective
starts policy of "active conversion" within outer colonies. This
amounts to a cold war of terrorism and raids.
|
224 CE |
Ganymede/Io
war. The two newly formed nations go to war. This is the beginning
of the squabbles between the new worlds.
